Cancellations
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a counselling appointment.
Where sufficient notice is given, a prepaid session can be rearranged and the session credit carried forward. Prepaid session credits do not automatically expire at the end of the month.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will normally be charged at the full session fee. Where a four-session prepaid package applies, a late cancellation may count as one of the four sessions.
If I need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, your session credit will be preserved and an alternative appointment offered.
If you decide to stop
You are free to stop counselling at any time.
If you have paid for a four-session package and decide to stop before using all your sessions, any remaining prepaid balance will be reviewed fairly, taking account of sessions already attended, applicable cancellation charges, the agreed package terms and your statutory consumer rights.
Where appropriate, unused session credits may be carried forward or a refund arranged in accordance with the agreed terms and applicable law.
- FAQs
Questions you may have before starting
What happens in the first session?
How long are sessions?
Do you work online and face to face?
How often will I attend?
How many counselling sessions will I need?
I generally recommend an initial 12 weeks of counselling, as meaningful therapeutic work often requires time and consistency.
However, this is a recommendation rather than a fixed obligation. We will review your progress together and consider whether to continue, adjust the frequency or bring counselling to an end, depending on your needs and circumstances.
Is counselling confidential?
Do I need a diagnosis?
What therapeutic approach do you use?
Do you work with autistic people and people with ADHD?
Do you offer faith-based counselling?
Do you offer couples therapy?
Can I work with you if I live outside the UK?
What is the cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a counselling appointment.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will normally be charged at the full session fee, subject to the agreed terms and applicable consumer rights.
Where sufficient notice is given, prepaid session credits can be carried forward and used for a rearranged appointment.
What happens to prepaid sessions if you are on holiday?
Your unused prepaid sessions remain as credit.
You will not lose prepaid session credits because I am on holiday or because of an agreed change to our schedule.
Prepaid session credits do not automatically expire at the end of the month.
How does the Monthly Advance Payment Option work?
Clients attending ongoing individual counselling may choose to pay for four sessions in advance at a discounted rate of £5 less per session than the standard individual-session fee.
If you are unable to use all four sessions within the month, your remaining session credits will be carried forward. They do not automatically expire at the end of the month.
Once all four sessions have been used, you may choose to purchase another four-session package.
The usual cancellation policy and agreed payment terms apply.
